MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT

LETTER FROM RICK, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, FULLFLAP.TV,

Let's get straight to the point.

As you know, a couple of weeks ago we had a few techie problems and while we've recovered from it (and made sure it never happens again), it has taken us sometime to get things back together. As quite a few of you have said, "why didn't you buy Apple Mac's!" Oh well.

The current show, the one where Vicki and I make our way around the sites of the River Thames from the air, is being put together as I speak and should be ready in the next week.

So does this mean we'll be back to "normal" service from next week? No, and here's why.

While we were sitting in front of black screens (with the word "error" flashing on and off) we took a moment to look at the next stage of FullFlap.TV.

Just by looking at the viewing figures, you can see some pretty obvious patterns. People like the shows where we cover events and occasions, like AeroExpo or the Pooley's AirDay. You also really like the ones we film in the air. These are the ones where we spend quite a bit of time mixing music and graphics.

Here's the catch. These types are also the most expensive shows to make.

At the events we need to pay a large team, we need to get them to the venue and then get them to stay around for a huge amount of time. For "in the air" features, the editors spend a lot of time in front of the computer.

We've had some great support so far but if we want to produce material like this again and more often and you clearly seem to want it, we need to step up another gear and get serious backers on board.

So here is what is going to happen.

Instead of trying to kick out three pieces a week, every week, we are going to slow down. This will give us time to develop the new format and talk to the right people to make it possible.

Then, when we are ready, we'll introduce the new format. Of course you’ll hear from the people who provide the money but it’ll be worth it as we’ll be able to ramp everything up to a whole new level. I've said it before. We're not interested in making "also ran" TV.

We also have a few other things up our sleeve but I’ll let you know when we have something to tell.

We've been doing a show three times a week now for a while and we've brought you some diverse and exciting features. We've fought the incessant doom mongers in aviation and argued throughout that flying can thrive and have a bright future. I hope you've felt that as you've watched.

So for now we’ll start preparing for the next stage.  For those of you who wanted longer, chunkier, even better produced shows, you’ll get it. For those who want lots of content, you’ll get it too. Our aim in the end is to get as many people airborne as we can through a new style of aviation TV. Quite how we get there or what path that takes, isn’t so much of an issue.

More than ever, keep your eye on the emails and we'll bring you more news as we get it.

Kind regards,

Rick

Do you embed a FullFlap.TV Player?

Again many thanks for doing this. As always, there is no commitment to keep it there but if you want to stay up with the show we'll be updating these as we get nearer to the new format. In the meantime we'll make it easier for people to watch our back catalogue on those players to keep them interested and on your site.
